  • I had the same problem, it was caused by reCapcha V2 which is not supported. I had to remove the Wordfence tables in my database. Then a ran a new setup of the Firewall settings, this time added reCapcha V3 sitekey and secret.

    Hey @deeqpk,

The fastest way back into your site would be to use ftp/sftp to access the web server, rename the wordfence directory in wp-content/plugins, then log in. Renaming a plugin directory immediately deactivates the plugin. Once you access the site you can rename the Wordfence directory again and then activate the plugin.

After you’re back in the site can you make sure you’re using the reCAPTCHA V3 keys, and no other reCAPTCHA plugins are active?

Please let me know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

@wfgerald I had a similar issue because I was using reCAPTCHA V2. There isn’t anything in the WF setting description that suggests you have to use V3, maybe that should be added for clarity.

@wfgerald Many thanks – following your directions I was able to login, and have now updated things, including adding 2fa for my logins going forward. Everything is now looking great!

I’m having the same issue. I accidentally used V2 keys.. but I don’t have ftp. What else can I do or is there a way to set up ftp without being able to login to WordPress? I’ve tried disabling the reCAPTCHA from Wordfence Central but no luck and I can’t get into the WordPress plugin version to disable there.
I fear I’ve locked myself out forever and this is beyond my technical abilities to get around.
