Can't login to Dashboard via IE 8 (6 posts)

Ok..ready to pull my hair out. I have a site running WP 3.01. I can login via irefix, Chromoe, Safari and even on a MAC. cannot login on IE8. I've tried 32 bit and 64 bit. I've cleared my cache, removed all add-ons, tired with multiple computers, still can't.

Thinking plugin conflict, I removed all plugins. But still couldn't login on IE8. If this was just me I would say no problem, but my clients won't use Firefox. (I don't know why, crazy though)

I'm not a programmer or database person, but I did look at the database. Not even sure what to look for. I can tell you that I noticed some "leftover" stuff from Login Lockdown plugin which was deleted ages ago. All files are empty but wasn't sure if it was ok to delete what's remaining. Can't imagine that empty files would cause this though.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm at a loss at to what to do next. This is on a GoDaddy account , have already called them and needless to say, they were of NO help.

Have you tried switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    Thanks for responding.

Yes I did try that but forgot to mention it.. I've used the same theme for over 10 sites and would have been shocked if that was it. I'm not sure what else to try.

Does anyone have any other ideas for me to try? This is so frustrating. I have a feeling it is simple but I'm not even sure where to look anymore.

Ok...some more information. Not sure if it will help.

I've noitced that when logging into the dashboard on IE8 with the right password, it just refreshes the screen. Kind of like looping back to me.

But, if I put in the wrong password it does give me the right error message.

So' it's kind of like it knows that the password is right but can't send me to the right place. Again, ONLY in IE8.

Dos that help anyone have any ideas where to send me to look for a problem?
