Can't login

  • If the login issue didn’t start until after you changed the passwords, you might try completely clearing your browser cache – including cookies – and see if that does the trick.

Thanks for the suggestion ClaytonJames. Tried emptying the cache and browsing history etc but no joy. I’ve never actually managed to get into the dashboard because my friend had lost the password, so I reset it for her and this just keeps happening. Not sure how else I can get into the dashboard without uninstalling and reinstalling WordPress. I’d like to try avoid that if I can as I don’t have the original template files etc.

How have you been resetting the password?

They were ignoring her requests for the password so I went on the wp-admin page to login and clicked ‘forgot password’. She had the correct email address so I just reset it through that route.

Then tried to login into the dashboard with the user name and newly reset password, but just keep getting the message as per my first post.

As that’s not working give these methods a try.

I have reset the password through the email recovery, its just not letting me into the dashboard at all. It seems that the password reset was successful, as it said I had successfully reset it, but it just won’t let me into the dashboard. Will a different method of password reset actually help? Or will it continue to say don’t have sufficient permissions?

    Cheers
