Can't log into WP – tried all options

    I last logged into my blog about 4 weeks ago. As of today it won’t let me in. It just reloads the login page. Earlier today I tried getting in several times and it locked me out for 10 mins. There’s no error given on the page.

    I checked the database and ensured that I’m using the correct username.

    I tried all options above including the lost password email, SQL command, phpmyadmin editing while selecting MD5 to encode it, shell command, and finally the Emergency tool linked on that page.

    Nothing has worked. Same results. What’s going on? I’m not sure of my WP version, but I probably updated it 4 weeks ago.

    I even tried doing these steps with a really strong password with upper and lower case letters, numbers, and symbols.

    I don’t believe I installed any plugins recently, but I don’t know where to check that without logging in. It’s kind of a bare bones blog with just a few plugins because the blog is integrated into my ecommerce store. It’s been running this way for a few years without problems.

    I did notice that the MD5 hash of the user_pass field in the database is different between my two WP installations that both use the same password. Shouldn’t it be the same?

    – Please check the error logs on your server for a more specific error message and see why it’s failing. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.
    – If you cannot find error logs or if you don’t find any helpful info in the error logs, try Enabling debugging and post the results.

    _Also, contact your hosting provider and ask them if any security measure at their server is preventing you from login.

    Got it. The WP MySQL user only had READ and LOCK privileges. I must have done that when I was restricting access for some other MySQL users.

    Man that was crazy. I thought I got hacked.
