can’t log in no matter what I do

    I’m trying to log into wp-admin with my email and password. I tried logging in several times for about an hour now. Each time I send an email to reset the password, it tells me that it sent the email, and I’m not getting any email. I’ve tried every password in the book and none are working but I can’t seem to reset it either so i’m just totally locked out of my site with absolutely no solutoin. I’m using local by flywheel. I can’t do my literal job because wordpress.org won’t send me a reset password link.

    I tried creating a new account under the same email i’m working on this site with. i have a confirmation email for THAT funnily enough. but the real joke here is that when i try and log in with that, it tells me the username doesn’t even exist. what do i do? i need to work on this and i literally am unable to.

    Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    i renamed the directory but it still won’t let me log in. it’s funny because i can log in here to post on forums but i cannot log in to develop my own website locally. so the login works here but i can’t even use it to do what this is for, which is developing sites. i’m very confused. i can’t work today because of it

    Support forum login has nothing to do with your site’s dashboard login. Both are totally separate and independent of each other.

    This article gives you several ways to reset your password. All of them work, just use one that suits the tools you have and understand.

    Resetting Your Password

    It is quite usual for localhost configurations to not have email sending configured.
