Can’t log in despite copying password from database

Hi guys, something weird is going on…

Both myself and my friend can not log in to our site. WEIRDLY instead of saying the password is incorrect it just looks like it refreshes the page.

I tried clicking “i forgot my password” to reset it. No email arrived in my inbox despite several attempts and checking everywhere I could think of.

Could it be a script on the login page that is not working for some reason (something that gets called when you press buttons?)

I have found the database file via cpanel and can see her and my log in there, with odd looking passwords (probably because of attempting to reset them). I copied the password over and tried that. Again, the page just looks like it refreshes.

I currently can not access the dashboard for this site at all.

Any ideas what is going on or how to fix it? This site is still up, running happily we just can not log in to make changes.
