I have two websites. For each, I added a subfolder called “blog” and created a WordPress blog for each. All went well. I didn't customize anything other than a few basics in General Settings: the Site Title and Tagline, and my email address.
To check things, I logged out and back in and was able to log in to each just fine.
That was yesterday.
I have the Username and Password for each stored in my normal Word document for storing such things (password-protected, of course). I always copy and paste the Username and Password to save time and avoid user error.
Today, when I went to log in to both, though, I was only able to log into the blog for the “first” site. The "second" is telling me it's not the right Username and Password.
When I tried "Lost password", what it emailed to me was the Username for the blog for the "first" site!
This made no sense to me. Then I realized that in both blogs in the General Settings I had entered the same email address for both (it never occurred to me that that might present a problem later).
I don't know if that’s the problem or not. I don’t know why it would be.
Whether it is or not, I have no idea how to proceed from here.
I tried changing the email address in General Settings in the "first" and then saying "Lost password" on the "second", but it still sent me the Username for the "first" anyway.
I also tried entering the Username in Lost Password for the second, but it just says it’s not recognized.
I'm thinking I might go onto my server for the "second" site and just delete the whole "blog" folder, and upload the WordPress setup files from scratch, but I'm concerned that will leave conflicting info on the WordPress.org server.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
