# cant install updates.

 * cant install update to 3.9.1. get this:
 *  Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate
   178876 bytes) in /home/public_html/wp-admin/includes/class-pclzip.php on line
   4215
 * another error says this:
 * an unexpected error occurred. something may be wrong with wordpress.org or this
   servers configuration. wordpress could not establish a secure connection to wordpress.
   org. (errors point to 4 lines in update.php…. lines 267 and 407.
 * any idea what this means and how to fix it? thanks. 🙂

 * This is likely an issue with your hosts’ server. Have you contacted them about
   it?
 * I would first take care of this issue.

 * After you have taken care of above issue, if you still get “Fatal error: Allowed
   memory… “, try [increasing memory ](http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP)
   available for php.

 * ive increased memory in the wp-config file. still get the errors though.
