Can't install new plugs

I’m having a hard time finding information regarding how this plug in works.

My site was hacked and I’m sort of relying on this plug in to stop the hacker (was able to send himself admin passwords somehow).

I went through the set up and came to a page with modules that I could activate. Am I supposed to activate these? I did it once and my site went to an error page.

I currently do not have any module activated but I can not install new plug ins. I’m told that the plug in could not create the required directory. How are you supposed to install new plug ins once you have this activated?
