Have a default theme available
One or more recommended modules are missing
You should use a persistent object cache
Hope someone can help…

Hi there @hoteldiderot,
Thanks for reaching out. When you mentioned you’re stuck at the checking compatibility stage, do you encounter any notice on the same screen where whereby you are stuck? If so, please share here, along with sharing your Site Health information. This can help determine the cause.
Once we have this we can provide some troubleshooting suggestions, which may include attempting set up from a Chrome browser incognito window to ensure there are no browser related blocks such as Ad Blockers impacting set up. From the Site Health status information you already provided non of the items on this list should impact Site Kit set up.
Hi there,
thanks for answering.
I have just sent my health report..
And I have tried the incognito window trick (to no avail).-

This is the inspection errors the page sends while trying to load.
Many thanks for sharing these additional insights. When checking your site I can see it’s served as non secure (http, as opposed to https). While I unsure at this stage if this is contributing to the issue, can you share the error message you see on the screen if any, or is the issue just that the page never finished loading, without any error?
If it’s a case that the screen never finishes loading can you ensure users can only access the https version of your site while checking once more from a Chrome browser incognito window? To ensure that visits to your http site are redirected you can usually do this at host level, or you can install and use a plugin, such as a SSL redirect plugin.
Let me know how you get on with the above check, or ask if you need assistance with ensuring that only the https version of your site is accessible.
Thank you for the follow-up.
1) The issue is that the page never finishes loading, without any error being displayed.
2) When googling my site and then opening it through a Chrome browser incognito window, I get the https version of it.
Hi @hoteldiderot,
Thanks for the update. Unfortunately I can still access the non secure version of your site. This may be impacting Site Kit set up. You’re secure version is indeed accessible, however with both versions available this isn’t ideal. Can you use a plugin to ensure there is redirection to your https site and I’ll check your site once more?
Alternatively what we can do, is use the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin, to try and determine whether it’s a third party plugin causing this issue. From reviewing your Site Health information which you kindly shared, I don’t suspect this is the case.
I found the issue with https and have redirected to it…
Perfect! When you perform another check now with redirection in place do you encounter the same constant loading errors, with the same browser console errors? If so please perform the steps below:
- Login to your live site from a Chrome browser incognito window.
- Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot” (I can see you already have the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin active from your Site Health information you shared)
- From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google“.
- Attempt to setup Site Kit once more or check for the same error.
Let me know how you get on with the above. If the same occurs this indicates a possible hosting related block. You can help determine this by checking does the same occur using a disposable WordPress site not using the same host.
Thanks for the follow-up.
I followed the 4 steps above and got the same problem.
Inspecting the loading page shows these error messages :
https://drive.google.com/file/d/18qcfhak5B24MwxsqWQqLrDoxMtJ9GCyp/view?usp=sharing… and after letting it run all night, I have this message :
“Site Kit cannot connect to the Google Search Console API, which is required for Site Kit. This can occur if your host, a firewall, plugin, or another configuration is blocking the ability to make external API requests, so please check these services to ensure that API connections are not blocked“

Thanks for the update. Based on your comments and checks it sounds like there is something at host level causing this block. Did you get an opportunity to perform a check on a disposable WordPress site?
Another way that can help identify a host related block is to set up a new WordPress site on the same hosting platform and check from there, or ask your hosting provider is there any firewall active, or other blocks that are restricting your site from communicating with sitekit.withgoogle.com.
If you want to also expand on one of your console errors this may provide further insights into the specific block.
Thanks.
I just tried the disposable site test : it works perfectly.
I am checking with the hosting service.
Great! Let us know how you get on. I’ve also checked your hosting provider and it looks like they have a QuickInstall feature that allows you to easily set up additional WordPress installs from where you can test with.
Your hosting provider can also check for any blocks to the Site Kit service (sitekit.withgoogle.com).
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Hello there,
a quick update and some very bad news : I trusted my hosting service to help me setup Site Kit >> they had me make changes in the general settings of the wp admin
>> I have now lost access to the admin. It refuses to show up and instead of getting the login screen, I get a word version of my landing page.
>> My site is down.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry to hear that @hoteldiderot. Do you recall what changes you made?
If you talk with your hosting provider they may be able to undo any changes. If you’ve changed your site or WordPress address from your WordPress general settings, you can revert these changes to ensure everything is back to normal. If you’re unable to access your wp-admin panel to change these your hosting support team can make these changes directly in your site database.
