# Can’t install – Error

 * When trying to activate the plugin, I get the following ERROR:
 * Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
 * Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home/sites/new-nexusdialogues.com/
   public_html/wp-content/plugins/arlo-training-and-event-management-system/includes/
   functions.php on line 11

 * That happens because you have an older version of PHP, the plugin requires at
   least PHP 5.4.
 * Please look at our documentation that accompanies the Arlo WordPress plugin [http://developer.arlo.co/doc/wordpress/installation](http://developer.arlo.co/doc/wordpress/installation).
 * Please update your PHP version and try to install it again.
