I've installed (on my own machine: Fedora RC3test2):
    0. Server version: Apache/2.0.50, Server built: Sep 8 2004 06:18:57
    1. MySQL 3.23.58
    2. PHP 4.3.8 (cgi) (built: Sep 10 2004 09:39:47)
I've verified that I have a working PHP configuration by placing "<?php phpinfo(); ?>" in a file called "test.php" in the same directory I have WordPress installed, and noting the pages of output I get.
I've also created a "wordpress" database in MySQL.
So, I rename the file "wp-config-sample.php" to "wp-config.php", and edit the appropriate fields, and then run "http://myhost/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php" and I see absolutely nothing. On viewing the source of the page created it is:
This also happens when I try any of the .php files in the wordpress directory.
I then go to the directory where I installed wordpress and run "php wp-admin/install.php" and I get:
"PHP Notice: Undefined index: SCRIPT_NAME in /var/www/html/wordpress/wp-settings.php on line 7
    Content-type: text/html
    X-Powered-By: PHP/4.3.8"
    Any ideas?

    Hey jaden,
Thanks for the suggestion. It did the trick, and I am able to begin the installation. I really appreciate the quick feedback.
