• Hey Guys,

We’re hosting our WordPress site on Windows Server 2012 NTFS. We are receiving an error that WordPress cant create directories when we try to update through the dashboard, and when extracting the archive of the latest version from the WP plugin repository in order to update manually, we’re receiving a “path too long” error that prevents us from extracting the entire package. Seems to be happening somewhere in the /node-modules folder tree. The /node-modules folder was never included in previous production versions so we’ve never seen any issues in the past. Any thoughts or suggestions? Will the plugin function without the /node-modules folder?

  • Hi there,
you can safely remove the node_modules folder, as it’s only needed for development purposes and not for production. It has been included in error, and it will be excluded from package on future releases.
