can’t insert link into body of post

    Am trying to insert a link in a post. All insert buttons inactive. Tried alt-shift+a, which brought up the box. Filled it in but the link does not appear in the post. Is there something I need to do to activate the buttons and the function? (And something not to do that makes them inactive?)

    click the little chain looking icon and it will ask you to add the url

    The little chain icon is inactive (whited out). That’s what I expected to do, but all those insert buttons are inactive.

    write the linktext first, highlight it in the editor, and then the ‘link chains’ button should be visible (active) – click on it and enter link url.

    Yes! I press on with WordPress.
