  • I am trying to add an external slideshow to a page on my blog. The coding for the slideshow as provided by the external site is as follows:
    <script type=’text/javascript’ src=’’></script>
    <img id=’faaslideshowimage[19902438819]’ onClick=’javascript: mouseclick19902438819(event);’ onMouseOver=’javascript: mouseover19902438819();’ onMouseOut=’javascript: mouseout19902438819();’src=’’ style=’width: 400px; height: 400px; padding: 0px; margin: 0px; border: 1px solid #666666; cursor: pointer; cursor: hand;’ alt=’Art Prints’ title=’Art Prints’>

    But when I add this to my page, only a black box appears, and the coding gets automatically changed to just this:
    <img id=”faaslideshowimage[19902438819]” style=”width:400px;height:400px;padding:0;margin:0;border:1px solid #666666;cursor:hand;” title=”Art Prints” alt=”Art Prints” src=”” />

    Can anyone please help me?

  • Hi Tara,

    Next time please put code between backtics or use the ├žode’-button [at the beginning and end of the code]. Code can ‘upset’ the workings of the forum.

    Javascript should be added to the head [header.php] or the body as follows:

    JavaScripts in HTML must be inserted between <script> and </script> tags.

    JavaScripts can be put in the <body> and in the <head> section of an HTML page.
    The <script> Tag

    To insert a JavaScript into an HTML page, use the <script> tag.

    The <script> and </script> tells where the JavaScript starts and ends.

    The lines between the <script> and </script> contain the JavaScript:
    alert(“My First JavaScript”);

    You don’t have to understand the code above. Just take it for a fact, that the browser will interpret and execute the JavaScript code between the <script> and </script> tags. Learn more:
