Can’t Get “YITH WooCommerce Product Add-Ons” (Plugin, Free Version) to Work

I’ve installed “YITH WooCommerce Product Add-Ons” to my website, but it seems I cannot get the plugin to work properly at all. In the demo of the free version of the plugin, there’s a tab called “Option Blocks” (under “Product Add-ons & Extra Options” on the sidebar). I cannot get this tab to show up and can only see the “General Settings” page. It seems I cannot access the core, basic functionality of this plugin due to this issue.

My WordPress version is 6.2.2; WooCommerce is at 7.9.0; and YITH WooCommerce Product Add-Ons is at 2.24.0. I installed the plugin directly from the Plugins page on my website via the Install button, rather than uploading a .zip file as recommended here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/yith-woocommerce-product-add-ons/#installation

Please help me to get the free version of this plugin working as advertised in the online demo site.

@askmagic I updated the plugin but am not able to see the “Option Blocks” tab which is supposed to be visible according to your demo.

I really have no idea why my installation is behaving so weirdly. I’ve reinstalled it multiple times now, including a raw upload of the .zip file as suggested on the documentation. Nothing seems to be working and there’s no clear reason why it’s looking like this. Please help me out here as I’d really like to use your plugin for my website.

Hi there,

For the screenshots you sent, it seems you are in the old panel of the plugin.

You can change to the new one, the same as the demo, by going to Products > Product Add-Ons and then click on the Switch to the new 2.0 version button.

@aranofacundo Thank you. That finally brought up the Options Blocks settings page which I needed.

I didn’t realize that this step was necessary for accessing the basic settings of the plugin, even for a first-time user. Your documentation page strongly conveys the impression that this step is only necessary when migrating from an old (1.x) version. As a new user of the plugin, I obviously didn’t have any old data to migrate, so I didn’t think this step was required.

Please consider making the 2.x interface the default for new users, as nobody should be required to press a button to get the plugin working correctly out of the box. At the very least, please make it clearer in your documentation when such a step is necessary so that people can avoid situations like this.
