• Hi there,

I am having an issue with WP not being able to upload images from my desktop.

I have read a few posts about this issue and I have tried everything they have suggested. I have created the “uploads”folder and set the permissions to 775 and also 777 but that did not work. I also tried setting the permissions on the wp-content, themes, mythemes, folders to 775 and 777 and that did not work. I was having trouble installing plugins but after I set the permissions on the plugins fold to 775 I was able to install plugins. I am currently working on three blogs and having the same problem on all three.

  • Change the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767 or 777. Once your uploads are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works OK.

    Ok esmi & t-p,

I reset the permissions to 767 and 777 but that did not work. I also checked the path to the uploads and that was correct.

This is the error message I get after WP tries to upload the inages,

The uploaded file could not be moved to /var/www/vhosts/bluestripecreative.com/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads.

    Any thoughts??????

    -look in
    admin – settings – miscellaneous
and see what folder you have there

-also, discuss the issue with your host?

    Hi t-p.

Sorry for the delay in my response. I checked in Admin – Settings and there is no miscellaneous listed there.

We host these blogs on our dedicated server at Hostway.

i’m experiencing the same thing. were you able to resolve this issue? if so, would you please let me know what fixed it?

    many thanks!
