    the output like this:

    “Page Not Found…
The page you were looking for could not be found. I’m sorry, it’s not your fault… probably. If you think it is, please send an email to webmaster at this domain and let us know what you were looking for. We may be able to point you in the right direction.”

    i already rename theme folder,but nothing happen..help me pls.tq

You seem to be redirecting to wordpress.org. You need to make sure that you have the right values for “site_url” and “home”. As you can’t get into wp-admin, see these instructions:

I’m relatively new to this virtual world and am building a website (circuspet.com). My host dosen’t support word press directly, but has allowed me to have it in an add-on domain (circuspet.net) The word press blog comes up when
I go to http://www.circuspet.net/blog . However I can’t get to my admin page. Too much address confusion for this simple mind. My flat learning curve will require much time on this forum. Before I can start to comprehend all the bells and whistles offered and what I want too do I must be able to get to my administration page.

When you say you can’t get to wp-admin, what do you mean? If you click the “login” link, you get the WP login box. What happens when you enter your username and password?

Do you get an error message?

    Les:
Thank you for your quick responce. Sorry to sound so lame
but if I weren’t, I wouldn’t be on this forum. Since I got the WP download from my host i may need to access administration through their control panel. I don’t know how to get to a log-in. I got to this forum through a link
(Mr.wordpress) on the default page that came up. Again I apoligize for my lack of exposure and understand how these simple problems can fustrate the tecs tring to answer them.
unfortunatly my host (VodaHost)dosen’t offer WP suport.

    Thank you

No, you access WP admin through WordPress. when you installed WordPress, you should have received an email confirming your username (usually “admin”) and your password (a random string of letters and numbers).

Go to your site and click the “Login” link on the sidebar. You will get a box asking for your username and password. Fill them in and that will take you to wp-admin.

    Les:

Thanks again, and again I must apologize for not understanding this until you told me. I have recieved the email and saved it. I wiil now try to log in.

    Thanks again,
    Robert Pond

P.S. Unfortunately this is not the last dumb question I’ll ask.

Let us know how things go ok? =)

Let me say, first, that I have a regular website on my domain where I’m installing my new WordPress blog. After successfully logging in the the WP Admin, I found I couldn’t view my new blog.

So in the Option pulldown, I tried to change the location of the blog to mydomain.com/blog. When that didn’t seem to work (i.e., I couldn’t see it), I made the mistake of changing the URL of WordPress (the choice right above the other in the Option pulldown area) to my mydomain.com/blog.

Unfortunately, now when I try to sign in, instead of going to the Admin area, I’m taken right to my website home page. If I type in mydomain.com/blog, I get the same results.

    I have two questions:

    1. Short of taking everything down and starting over from scratch, do you know of any way I can back up?? I can still get into my websites cPanel of course, and can see all of the files, but I’m wondering how I can get back to the WP Admin area.

    2. Also, what do I have to do so that my default location of my blog will be my domainname.com/blog?? I wouldn’t have made this mistake if I had that part right.

So many people, with so many different issues in one thread = train wreck.

@david – you can only put REAL URLs in the Options -> General URI fields. As you’ve noticed, pointing them to where you’d like things to be just won’t do.

First off, this tutorial will help you get your blog back: http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/

Secondly, see this article in the codes: Moving_WordPress

I managed to get an intro and one page in today, reminded me of learning to drive a car. Although I went around the block backwards ( got the pages up as an edit of the defaults) at least I got the car out of the driveway.

P.S. does everyone have the ability to edit the pages or is that exclusive to me?

@derosza, your URL times out. I can’t see anything there.

Hahaha.. Glad to hear that! Ya know.. I thought I seen someone driving the car around the block backwards..but, thought.. nah, that couldn’t be.. =P
