Can't get theme to show up in subdomains

I had a WP site converted to multi-site using subdomains, but I am having trouble activating a new theme for my new subdomains. I installed the theme Suffusion from the My Sites / Network Admin dashboard, and it shows up (and I was able to activate it) under My Sites / <original_site> / Appearance / Themes, but not for any of my new subdomains.

If I set the theme to Network Enabled in My Sites / Network Admin / Themes, it does not show up under My Sites / Network Admin / Sites / <subdomain> / Themes, which is as expected. However, it also is not listed as an installed theme under My Sites / <subdomain> / Appearance / Themes.

If I set the theme to Network Disabled, it does show up under My Sites / Network Admin / Sites / <subdomain> / Themes, as expected. It is set to enabled there (the link displayed is “Disable”), but it still is not listed as an installed theme under My Sites / <subdomain> / Appearance / Themes.

My preference would be for this theme to be network enabled, but I am okay with it being network disabled and having to individually enable it for the subdomains if only it would show up as an installed theme. I just need some way to activate it for the subdomains.
