Hi @andreaswalkendorff, thanks for your message and sending the diagnostic report over.

Everything actually seems to check out with your diagnostic. IP detection seems good, communication to our servers and back to your site works, as does creation of your wordfence-waf.php file so permissions appear OK too. I also don’t have log of any issues with your hosting provider blocking our services.

What I am seeing, is that a .user.ini file that points the auto_prepend_file directive to wordfence-waf.php, confirming the optimization, may not be present in your case here. Some hosts do not support the use of .user.ini files. This does not occur on all cPanel hosts, but only on those with a specific configuration. In this case you could follow the instructions on the page you mentioned: https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/optimizing-the-firewall/#on-siteground-and-other-similar-hosts-that-use-cpanel

We currently don’t recommend using PHP8 as not all WordPress and plugin functions are 100% confirmed as compatible so a rollback to PHP7 could help.

There are also further troubleshooting tips on a separate page at: https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/optimizing-the-firewall/troubleshooting/

If you are unable to create a .user.ini file and your host does NOT use CPanel therefore blocking you from following the Siteground troubleshooting tips, you may need to contact your hosting support to ask them how to add the wordfence-waf.php file to your auto_prepend_file directive.

Let me know what you find out!

    Peter.
