    Hello, I’m using Virtue Premium.

I took over the site from someone else and want to change the title and description of the site (on google research results and tab when hover on with the mouse).

I’ve changed the site title and tagline in general setings.

All the pages look good with the right description except the home page (which is the one coming first on Google of course).

Here is the site url :
I want to remove the word “student” and replace it by “Family”

    Thanks for your help

    Hey,
Are you using an SEO plugin like yoast SEO?

    That is what we recommend.

    Hello,
Yes, I do have yoast SEO installed.
I’ve looked into the settings but I couldn’t find where I have this “student” description.

I’m seeing it in your home page title output. You should be able to go to pages menu in your admin and edit the page you called home. There you should see options to set the title.

One thing to check is make sure you have the SEO options off from the theme in your theme options > advanced settings.

My SEO options were on in the theme options, I changed them to off. Thanks for the tip.

It’s not the “home” page title I’m trying to change, it’s the title of the site we get when we google it.

I’ve looked in all the menu and I can’t find where there is still the old description saying “student travel packages”. But it’s still showing up as site description, and also in the google tab when I open the site…

Hello, I think I figured part of the problem.
The Yoast SEO fields were unchecked in my screen options.

The pages descriptions now look good in the tabs.

However I still have the wrong title name and description in the results when I google the name of the website. I probably missed a main snippet somewhere?

    Thanks

You also have to wait for google to update it’s cache of your site.

If you just changed then I would wait for that.
