    Hi Josh!

Thank you for you kind remarks and for using, at least trying to, super zoom gallery. At your testsite I saw in my webdeveloper tools an JavaScript exception and I noticed that the generated gallery was completely empty.

I was able to reproduce this by adding a gallery shortcode to an empty post. This is indeed not a very nice way to handle such a situation. I will try to make that more robust.

So it looks like that somehow the gallery does not contain any images. If you look in your post, do you see something like: [gallery ids="38,39,40,41,42,43,44"] (in the ‘text’ view, not the visual editor) ? Or do you see [gallery]?

I think something goes wrong in the creation of the gallery.

If I can help you in any way please let me know.

    Kind regards,

    Niels

Yes, I thought this might be ’empty images’. They don’t ever arrive! They never show up in the HTML.

I’ve double checked that the images are definitely there in the media library. And I loaded 3 new JPG images up in a new gallery but still the same (see the home page).

If I switch the plug-in off, they show up fine. It’s so weird!!! Do you want me to deactivate it to check?

    Josh.

    I’ve deactivated the plug-in.

    Hi Josh,

In the 0.5.2 version (just commited, can take some time before it shows up) I fixed the spinner bug and checked in the JavaScript for the presence of images so the JavaScript error doesn’t occur.

Thanks for discovering this and for reporting it.

I hope you can see what goes wrong on your test site, maybe if you create a new post and try again?

    Kind regards,

    Niels

    Hi Josh,

It is weird… I am trying to reproduce this strange behaviour here by trying it on a page but I can’t. Only thing I could think of was that maybe on your site the GD php module is not installed, but then I would expect to see at least the thumbnails…

    But not even that. Strange…

I tried it on the same server with another (live) website, version 0.5.2. This time it worked BUT it introduced an extra image (the phone) which isn’t part of the gallery (it disappears when I deactivate the plug-in).

This phone image shows up in the media gallery as http://www.wpmadesimple.org/resources/telephone_joshbiz/. Why it’s ‘attached’ to the resources page, I don’t know.

Plus when you zoom in on the image, it doesn’t allow you to zoom into the very bottom part of the image.

I still can’t explain why it wouldn’t work on the other website. Since the update, nothing is displayed of course.

    Hi Josh,

Thanks for your reply, the extra image is a known limitation of the plugin, the selection of images and their order is something I want to improve. Right now it shows all the attached images of the post/page.

The zooming to the very bottom part is a bug. Thank you for finding it.

I will try to fix this.

    Kind regards,

    Niels

Thanks for all your replies, Niels. As I said at the beginning, this is a great plug-in with a lot of potential application. Keep at it!

    Hi Josh,

In the 0.5.3 version, just released, the zoom bug is fixed and there is now support for galleries with just a set of images (like the default 3.5 gallery).

    Thanks again for your comments.

    Kind regards,

    Niels
