I have registered with GoDaddy my domain name. The hosting account has everything needed to for WordPress, including mysql, etc. I am following the “Famous Five Minute Install,” but when I get to step two (!!), opening we-config-smaple.php with a text editor (I used Text Edit on my Mac), I get a bunch of Chinese-like characters. Anyone know how I can get past step 2?

    Possible causes:
    – you have a corrupted download; try a new copy
    – there is something wrong with your editor’s encoding settings

    Okay,
Now I’m using a web-posting called “Installing WordPress on Tiger” but when I get to the mysql configuration, the instructions don’t jive with what I see on the “terminal” screen. I have a Mac OS 10.3.9 The GoDaddy hosting plan I purchased comes with mysql and anything else I need. But I need good installation instructions (I am not an intuitive web guy). Something step-by-step. For example, I set up my mysql with GoDaddy–do I have to download it to my desktop? Do I have to enable PHP on my desktop? I’m having a hard time with this, any help is welcome.
