    Hi,

Reading through the forums I believe I have everything set up correctly – but if I go to the page I want to see the new sidebar (Group pages) the old one is still there. If I go into quick sidebar my sidebar isn’t in the list, not at the menu at the top of the admin screen (no sidebars found). But it IS in the admin menu.

Also, I noticed when editing the page template “right sidebar” isn’t available. Is this normal? I have disabled plugins and defaulted to others themes as well. Cleared cache, etc….

    Thanks for any insights!

    Thank you for reporting this.

Is it possible to provide some screenshots of your Display Conditions + Options tab for the affected sidebars, as well as the Quick Select box? You can use imgur.com

Hi there, just wanted to make sure you had everything you need?

    Thank you for the screenshots.

What plugin are you using for the Groups post type? The “Groups” you see in the conditions is different from the built-in BuddyPress Groups as the free version of CAS does not support the latter.

You can see how the BuddyPress Groups condition would look here (notice it says BuddyPress Group Pages):
    https://dev.institute/docs/content-aware-sidebars/sidebar-conditions/buddypress-groups/

With that said, the other plugin you are using may still be supported.

To see what condition types are being matched, try to open one of the pages where you want the sidebar to be displayed, then use the CAS admin toolbar. It looks like this:

    Hi there,
Thanks for your response – I am using BuddyBoss, Memberpress and Learndash.
As an example and to help diagnose, I tried to use the sidebar on a static page and it does not replace the default sidebar.

Also, is it typical that you cant assign a WordPress sidebar template? It doesn’t show up as an option on the admin screen when CAS is =enabled – it only shows “default” and “blank page”. Note also that the sidebar I created does not show up in the list, both in the upper menu on the admin front end “no sidebars found” or in the list on the admin page backend.

I think if I understand correctly – the only way to get a custom sidebar to show in a BuddyBoss Group is to buy the premium version?

If so, can I use it on or test site and then transfer the license?

I tried to use the sidebar on a static page and it does not replace the default sidebar.

This ought to work. Did you verify that the Target Sidebar you selected corresponded to the default sidebar (the sidebar should be listed under Theme Sidebars in the admin toolbar), and that the condition group did not contain anything else but that 1 page?

Would it be possible to provide some screenshots of what you mean here?
If the custom sidebar is not displayed in the admin toolbar under the blue line, it means that its conditions have not been met for the current page.

Out-of-the-box yes. It is possible that you can get it working without since you see the “Groups” post type condition that may be added by either Buddyboss or Memberpress, but I have not tested either of those

If so, can I use it on or test site and then transfer the license?

You can use a license key on as many test/develop/staging sites as you need, it will not count against any quota so it does not need to be transferred. But yes, transferring license keys is also possible.

I am not allowed to talk about the Pro version in these forums, but if you do decide to try it, you can get email support here: https://dev.institute/contact/

No pressure, I will still answer questions in this thread to get your sidebars up and running

Thanks for your help, Joachim, I do appreciate it since I am on a deadline !
When I set the sidebar rule to replace the default on a test post page it works – so that’s good, that shows the settings are correct.

If I set the sidebar to show on “groups” it does not work on any group – not in the BuddyBoss, Memberpress OR Learndash groups. I need that functionality for learndash and the forum.

So my question again is please, how do I get sidebars to show in BuddyBoss groups, please?

    Plugin Author Joachim Jensen

    (@intoxstudio)

I just tried installing BuddyBoss and verified that the “BuddyPress Profiles” and “BuddyPress Group Pages” (CAS Pro) conditions fully supports it.

I also installed LearnDash and verified that it is possible to display custom sidebars on individual LearnDash Group pages as well. This is the “Groups” condition that you see in your screenshot.

However, I did notice that when both BuddyBoss and LearnDash are installed, the Group component in each plugin conflict with each other, with BuddyBoss taking precedence when viewing groups on the frontend. So in that case you need CAS Pro.

    I hope this helps!
