Hello!
Please update to the latest plugin version, which is faster and more reliable. Your site’s currently using a version we released back in 2019, which had this issue I coincidentally resolved a minor update later.
I am currently running version 4.2.5. i am a little confused because I have the plugin set to automatically update. Do I need to remove the plugin and re-install?
Hi again!
I see you updated; great! Everything looks familiar to me now. Reinstalling isn’t necessary; I see no signs of a faulty plugin transaction.
Please go to the admin area, and under “Settings > General,” you will find Site Title and Tagline. They shouldn’t be the same; you can leave the tagline empty if you don’t have one.
After updating those values, you can customize their usage in TSF: go to “SEO > Homepage Settings.” You can tweak the title output under General, with more advanced settings under Additions.
After saving, the title should be updated on your site accordingly. You might need a tool to fix the title output when it doesn’t, but I don’t think that’s necessary.
I am really grateful for your help, but I am confused. When I click on the link “SEO” on my left hand menu I am taken to a page titled “Setting”. I cannot find the string “tagline” on that page. What am I missing?
Hi again!
For the first “Settings > General” part, I meant Settings of WordPress itself; clicking Settings in the sidebar directly should land you at /wp-admin/options-general.php; this is where you can set the tagline.
