Can't get "pre-header" widgets to work

I set up five “pre-header” widget areas that appear in the header area above the header logo. But for some reason, I cannot click on them or use them. You can see my dilemma at: workers-party.com/news.

Any advice or fixes on how to resolve this problem are welcome. Thanks in advance!
