    Hi
    I’m using the twenty twelve theme and have activated the plugin. I’ve created a page with the shortcode [subscribe2], and all I get is :

    You may manage your subscription options from your profile.

    I have also tried adding the shortcode [subscribe2] to the front page widget, but all I get is the text [subscribe2] showing.

    On looking at other posts on the forum I can see that there is the potential to add a widget with a text area – how can this be done?

    Also, I’ve tried following the installation instructions (form the WP.org page) and after installing and activating, I’m trying to follow instructions:

    Click the “Settings” admin menu link, and select “Subscribe2” – there is no admin menu link in the settings menu,

    Any help is much appreciated,

    Earl

  • @earlsnappy,

    “All I get is :
    You may manage your subscription options from your profile.”

    To see the form, just log out of your own blog.

    To add the Widget, first enable it at Subscribe2->Settings under the Appearance tab, then place it in the WordPress Widgets page.

    Thanks for pointing out the error in the FAQs, the menu layout changed and everything is now under the Subscribe2 top level menu.

    @mattyrob,

    thanks for that, I think the problem may be that I don’t have a menu under Appearance> – should there be a separate menu for Subscribe2? I know that I do get options for other plugins in the >settings menu (e.g WP shortcodes),

    Regards, Earl

    @earlsnappy,

    No, not under the top level Appearance menu. Look for the top level menu called Subscribe2 nearer to the bottom of the list. In there you’ll have 4 options, one of which is Settings. Click that one.

    Once you are on that page you’ll see some tabs over the main part of the screen like ‘Email Settings’ and ‘Templates’. ‘Appearance’ is in there too and that’s where you need to be looking.

    @mattyrob,

    thanks for that, I had missed the extra appearance tab – doh!

    But, I’m still not getting anything, I’ve put the subcribe2 widget on the homepage and I’m getting:

    Subscribe2

    You may manage your subscription options from your profile.

    There’s no text area showing,

    Regards

    Earl

    @earl,

    I already answered that above. To see the form you need to log yourself out of your blog.

    @mattyrob, apologies, and many thanks for that – sorted.

    I want to replace the text “Your email:” with something else,

    and also get rid of the unsubscribe text

    and also alter the “subscribe’ on the button to ‘follow us’,

    but I haven’t found the decalrations in the .php files, should I be looking in .js files?

    Thanks Earl

    @earl,

    It’s in subscribe2/classes/class-s2-frontend.php

    Thanks very much, I have another query, but will start a new thread

    @earl,

    You welcome.
