Hi, thanks for creating this plugin, it’s great not to have to ask clients to make their own menus.

I can’t get it to work with Genesis though, I got a ‘headers already sent’ error when I create a new auto menu link.

Also I have a feature request – it would be great if the plugin could generate menu items for an empty menu and not just for a parent menu item. For example I’m making a ‘staff’ menu but i don’t want it to be a sub menu. I just need it to be it’s own menu and placed in a widget area.

Keep up the great work! 🙂

    Hi Morktron,
Interesting..I haven’t tested it with Genesis. Can you tell me what the full error message is? I’d like to be able to track down the bug.

I will take a look at your feature request idea. I hadn’t thought of using the plugin that way. It should be possible. I’ll let you know.

    Hi Morktron,
I just tested it with Genesis and it ran fine. Possibly the conflict is with something else? Let me know what the error message is.
    thanks,

Hi Ken, thanks for your responses, sorry for my slow reply. I have a few plugins installed which is probably causing an issue. I’m using Types / Views, Genesis Extender, Gravity Forms and so.

    Here is the error code:

WARNING: wp-includes/pluggable.php:896 - Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at ***/wp-content/plugins/custom-post-type-auto-menu/bfp-cpt-auto-menu.php:839)

WARNING: wp-admin/admin-header.php:9 - Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at ***/wp-content/plugins/custom-post-type-auto-menu/bfp-cpt-auto-menu.php:839)

NOTICE: wp-content/plugins/custom-post-type-auto-menu/bfp-cpt-auto-menu.php:839 - Undefined index: tab

When I click on the tab the error message goes away – but the auto menu doesn’t work.

I’m using a manual menu for the moment so don’t worry too much about this as I suspect it is due to my plugins. You are welcome to have copy of my site though for testing. Thanks again, cheers Mark

    Hi Mark,
I have gone through the code and not found anything glaring. However, I’ve seen a few things I could do a bit better. I’m going to fix those up and issue an update. Let me know if the problem persists after that.

    Hi Mark,
I have updated the plugin with a couple of changes that I hope will solve your problem. It is hard to know because I am not able to replicate the error. But I did see a couple of things that might have been responsible. Let me know if it the problem is solved.

Excellent thanks Ken, I’ve updated the plugin but still no menu is showing. I can’t see any errors though so that is good!
