Today, I logged into my website (hosted by iPower) and I did the updates WordPress demanded I make and now I get an error whenever I try to log into my site.

The error is: Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /hermes/bosweb/web089/b895/ipw.pipdigitalcom/public_html/wp-includes/general-template.php:2101) in /hermes/bosweb/web089/b895/ipw.pipdigitalcom/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 866

I want to log in to deactivate some plugins because that's where I think the problem lies but I don't know how.

I read on here I needed to go in via the FTP but in order to do that I need to log into WordPress.

This site was done by a former employee who was let go in a rather painful episode so I can't go to them for help. I am "familiar" with FTP but haven't used it in some time now.

Would someone please lend a hand to this less than savvy webpage person?

I'm not tech save either. You can try & do it through through phpmyadmin I found the info here http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F

I went to the link you provided for deactivating the plugins using both FTP and phpMyAdmin and couldn't do it using either method.

The instructions for doing it via FTP were fairly straightforward and it didn't work. The instructions using phpMyAdmin weren't working for me.

I couldn't find any table or any link that said wp_options.

This is really getting frustrating and I wish I knew enough to just change the theme. I contacted the owners of the theme but they are slow as molasses in getting back to people.
