  • I dont know what happened, but I cant seem to log into my wordpress admin panel. And when I try to do the “lost password” option & enter my email, it tells me that its not a registered email… but yet I’m looking at a wordpress email with my initial username & password which is

093lkjs09 (or something to that extent)

    What am I doing wrong?

  • Hi,

    Refer this article:

    Shane G.

I looked in there but I didnt see where it talks about the email not even working?

If I cant reset my password because it doesn’t recognize the email, what other options do I have?

I can log in here and post to the boards though….

Still stuck on being able to log in… any ideas?

well…the links Shane G posted has a link to this article

yes but the problem is wordpress admin login doesnt recognize my email to reset my password?

The username is always admin correct?

I have no clue why I’m not able to get past having the right email. I only have a couple of emails and I’ve tried them all.

Where would I be able to find the email I used to set up the admin dashboard?

Could I look in the wordpress file I’ve uploaded to my server?

If you have access to the database, you can have a look there.

BTW when you have lost you password you can request a change by entering you username, not your email, too.

well thats the other problem, I’m entering the username that I believe I made up, JohnnyScience like with everything else, but yet it’s telling me that its not registered either?

But I know I’ve made a full account because I’ve added plugins & made galleries within the plugins…?

What should I be looking for in the database?

    Continuing from veganist answer,

    1. Log in to Cpanel
    2. Sign in to PhpMyAdmin
    3. Click the database that is used
    4. On the page there is a list of tables in the database, select a table wp_users by clicking on the left side of the table.

What appears next is a table with the field as a column name and data content, namely WordPress blog user data. If there are several, make sure the user where you want to change your username to login and / or password. Then click on the pencil icon to edit

    5. By clicking the Edit icon, it will open the page to change the selected user data.
And to change the password, select the row user_pass, then:
    – Function> replace it with the MD5 method
    – Value> enter a new password. For example: Johnny15483Science

After that click the Go button to save the password change.

Furthermore please try to log into your WordPress blog with the username or password new. Good luck

i have used the above steps but i still get message that my username and email is not valid! is there a phone number from wp i can call. i have called go daddy (host) of my two word press blogs but they say the problem is with word press. please help
