Support » Fixing WordPress » Can’t get content inside of <!– more –> to show up

  • Heya,

    I recently decided to upgrade from b2 to wp. I’ve been fairly successful at customising the WP template so far. However, I noticed a problem where content I demarkate inside the ‘Read more’ tag wouldn’t show up even after clicking on the ‘Click here to read more link’. I’m referring to the posts at http://www.aerokinesis.com/blog2

    I’m not sure what I should do from here to make them show up. Here’s my single.php file: http://www.aerokinesis.com/blog2/single.rar

    I’d really appreciate any help I could get on this matter and thanks in advance.

  • You don’t have to put the text inside the tag. It should be:
    blah, blah, blah
    blah, blah, blah

    <!--more-->
    blah, blah, blah
    blah, blah, blah
    blah, blah, blah
    blah, blah, blah

    and whatever is AFTER the more tag will show up only when clicking on the “read more…” link.

    Anything inside <!-- --> won’t show up, that’s the point. Those are HTML comment tags. 😉

    Ah, I see 🙂 Thanks a bunch.
