Can't get button to link to Google page

Hi, I’ve tried three different Google plus plugins and so far none of them has worked properly. But I think this one may be the best. There seems to be some missing information that I need.
I’ve already got several pluses on my google plus pages which I’d like to have show on my button.
The button does not link to my Google plus page with this code <?php rp_gpo_share(); ?> from your site.
The plugin settings give me this code: <?php rp_gpo_share([text_to_display_beside_button][, url_to_link_to]); ?>
but causes an error in php.
Obviously this is not complete. Can you supply me with an example of what I should replace the text between the square brackets with please.
