Hey Tony DePaul,
Plugin data added to the database sometimes remains. Can you please share a screenshot of the data that you mentioned is not good.
Thanks for responding so quickly, Harish. If I try to reinstall again I guess I could post a screenshot. But all it will show you is the html missing for the form that sets up the Subscribe button widget in the sidebar. That’s where I screwed up: messed up the original contents of that form. It’s just blank now.
Ah! After a night’s sleep I’m seeing the obvious mistake I made, Harish. I didn’t need to uninstall and start over; just had to regenerate the html from the tool you provided.
Hey Tony,
No problem at all. I’m just glad you’re back to using our plugin.
Thanks, Harish. In the next few days I’ll send out a Dada Mail notice to try to move my readers off Dada Mail and onto self-subscription via MailChimp for WordPress. I’d like them to make the move themselves, so I know who’s really interested in following my blog.
I only have about 550 readers, but every time I post something new I need to alert everyone by running my Dada Mail list. It’s kind of a pain; takes four hours, I need to keep the Send window open and running, need to turn off power conservation in Preferences, etc.
And this is a blog mainly about long-distance motorcycling, so if I’m traveling I can’t very well run the Dada Mail list from the road.
With MailChimp for WordPress, I’m hoping I won’t need to do anything at all to keep my readers up to date while I’m on the Trans-Labrador Highway next month, or making the run from Cartagena to Tierra del Fuego in November and December.
The Subscribe box looks pretty good, I think. I don’t see how readers can miss it. Check it out if you like, http://www.tonydepaul.net
Cheers, and thanks again,
Tony
