• A friend of mine is using WordPress (I’m not sure of the version) and the site has been designed using the Chrome theme.

Strangely, when he looks in the pages section (and I have done the same), there is no home page, and yet it appears on the front end. He has taken over from a person who has now left the charity and can’t be contacted, and needs to update the content.

I’ve been in to various settings and wondered if a collection of widgets were being shown as the home page and being managed through the dedicated section, without an actual page present?

There is no menu system, no static page component.

I have no idea where to find the elusive home page – can anyone help? Would be most grateful. Thank you.

  • Hi Danolado,

When you’re in admin, could you go to “Settings” and then “Reading”. You are then at the Reading Settings page where you can choose your front page.

Here you can change the setting “Front page displays” to either “Your latest posts” or “A static page”.

If “a static page” is checked you will see that the value of front page is the same as one of the page titles you can find in the “Pages” section.

Thank you very much for your response. I must admit I did suspect it was to do with the ”static page” not being utilised, but as it’s my friend’s site and it’s already active, I was reluctant to test it. I have forwarded your advice on to him and await his response.

    Once again, thank you.
