    new to WordPress. I can’t figure out how to change the text on my pages. For exmple- I go to PAGES-HOME-click on edit and a box comes up allowing me to write text but does not give me the choice as to where to put the text. I have even tried to go to my file manager and tried to find the HTML for it and cant find it.

    using template- cleanwide
    I am so lost- PLEASE HELP!

  • You found the box that lets you edit the page text. That’s good. 🙂 Where the text shows up on your site is determined by your theme, though, not by anything in the WordPress backend. To find the page you need to edit go back to where you edit the page content and look for a select menu labeled ‘Template’. Write down the name of the template the page is using. Try to find a file in /wp-content/themes/<yourthemename>/ that has a name similar to that template name. That is what you want to edit, but you will be editing a PHP file, not HTML one. ‘Default Template’ most likely means ‘index.php’, by the way. See if that doesn’t get you started.
