Support » Plugin: Pinterest "Pin It" Button » Can't fetch images in uploads folder

    Hello there!

I can’t seem to get the “Pin It” button to work for the images in my Site’s wp-content/uploads folder. I click the Pin It button, and a Pinterest window pops up, but once I click Pin It on the new window I get the the following error message:

“Whoops! Sorry we could not fetch the image.”

I followed the FAQ i.e. disabling other plugins, refreshing the cache, switching to a basic theme and still no avail.

However, it does work on images hosted elsewhere e.g. Instagram. I’m wondering if this is a permissions issue or perhaps something else?

I have WordPress 3.5.2 installed on my Site and Version 1.4.3 of the Pinterest “Pin It” Button Plugin.

    Please advise! Thank you.

I’ve seen this happen sometimes when Pinterest can’t read the images properly from the outside. Possibly there’s a security setting on the web host causing this or because it’s SSL (https).

how does one find out if its SSL and change it?

Possibly try right-clicking the image and copying the URL or opening in a new tab? That should tell you.
