Support » Plugin: Easy Custom Auto Excerpt » Won't accept license code, but it is working

  • Purchased the pro version. Infuriating website. I registered, then it would not let me log in. I requested a password reset and got an email with nothing in it. The second one came through and took me to a login page that I could not pass. Finally, it somehow opened and gave me the license code, a long string of letters/numbers that I could not copy/paste.

I tediously entered the license string, but keep getting the message: “license you entered in incorrect.” There is a 0 and an O in the string, so I tried every combination with the same message returned.

It took a lot of messing around, but I finally got the teaser images to link to the content (had to also turn off the link when adding the image in WP and I also added a filter / function to the functions.php file from the WP Codex page).

The free version will only give you small teaser displays on the homepage / archive page; the paid version allows any size – that’s why I bought this – for the larger teaser size and the linking.

Since I finally got it working, I raised the rating up to three stars. It is actually a good plug-in, but it needs more polish. That said, since I got it working the way I needed it to work, it was finally worth the $10.

There is a notice where you enter the code that it expires in one year. I did not see that notice anywhere before I purchased it.

The license is only for 1 year. After the license expired, the plugin will still working fine, and won’t affect its performance. You only won’t get any updates and premium support (if you broke it, you fix it).

And also to remember, if you buy ECAE bundle, you will get both ECAE free and ECAE premium.

    Thank you
