Cant embed this video

    I am trying to embed a video from an URL and it won’t let me. The video was too big to “add media” to the wordpress website but i found some people online talking about just FTP uploading the file and then i will be able to embed the video. That doesn’t seem to be working. Here is the code that I used. Any other suggestions on how to upload large videos to my website?

    ‘[embed width="640" height="360"]http://mywebsiteurl.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/thecorrectfilename.wmv[/embed]‘

    Sidenote: I am embedding this video from the same directory as my website is located. Does godaddy need to be on the list of accepted embedded websites?

    Any ideas?
