I’m trying to edit one of my pages now, and the darned thing won’t even load the text. I wait a couple of minutes and all it does is spin the wheel and then give me a blank box with no text in it! Is the system down or something???

This is something you would need to ask your hosting provider.

I have seen a few threads where people are experiencing lags on their websites. What hosting provider are you using?

It seems one solution might be to save your permalinks on a different setting, then save them again on your current setting. In other words, switch your permalinks setting to something new and save the setting. After it saves, switch it back to what you were originally using and save again.

    HostGator.

I’m not sure what you mean about permalinks, but I’ve been using WP for this site for a year now.

I use HostGator also, and was experiencing the same thing.

    Check this thread:

Your permalinks can be found in the admin panel -> settings -> permalinks

Admin panel? For WP or Hostgator? I don’t see it at either.

Oh never mind, I found it at WP. Not sure what to do, though…

Ok, figured out what you said & did it. Didn’t work though.

I hope this doesn’t have anything to do with Cloudflare, but I’ve been using it and it’s been fine so far.

    1. Log into your wordpress admin panel.
    2. Over on the left, in the column, click “Settings”.
    3. In the dropdown list, click “Permalinks”.
    4. At the top of the page, switch your permalink setting to something new, and click save. Then, switch it back to your original setting, and click save again.

    Ok, see edited post above.

Okay… try temporarily disabling all your plugins.

After they are all inactive; try again to load your post.

If it works, it is a plugin conflict.

Begin re-enabling your plugins, one at a time, checking to see when it “breaks” your post.

I tried deactivating W3TC and TinyMCE but no luck. I can try others, but this stuff has been working all along.

OK, I deactivated ALL plugins in bulk and still cannot edit ANY pages.

I’ve had Hostgator looking into this and trying to solve it. They cant, though they see it happening in my editor. But they say that it appears to be happening outside their site too, and concurrent with the release of today’s version of WP.

Is WP working on fixing this?

This is seriously screwed up, being I cant edit my pages now.

Another component: Not only is the text in the edit box invisible ( white on white ) unless I highlight it, but the visual box is the only one available and THAT’s only showing html text in it. How weird.

I’m not sure what you have going on.

If you would like to send me a temp admin username and password, I can take a quick look at it for you.

Let me know, and I’ll tell you how to send the login info to me securely.

The following is my reply to HostGator support, who solved this for me.
It was solved by reverting to the last version of WP. My profuse thanks to HostGator support! You guys rock!

It works! Yay guys! THANK YOU!!!
