• I am fairly new to WordPress but I know css and html. I have recently had a template installed that I am wanting to edit i.e. colours etc but when I change any of the stylesheets and re upload them nothing on the site changes. Same goes for the style.css within WP Editor. I have set permissions on the folders to 777 as well.

    Is there something I’m missing?

  • what theme exactly?

what elements exctly are you trying to change?

do you clear the browser cache after the edits?

have you tried using a ‘custom CSS’ plugin?

or have you tried style.css in a child theme?

It’s a custom theme from template monster. I have tried changing the CSS that came with the theme. I am simply wanting to change certain colours of things and tweak sizes of certain thing such as the logo.

Not sure about a child theme or plugin as I said I’m fairly new to WP but I do understand CSS and HTML.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

    custom theme from template monster.

in this case, please contact the theme’s developer directly for help with your question, and check with them about how to change formatting in their themes.
