Hi – & thanks for plugin

I can’t download a log file, I get “You don’t have permission to access /wp-content/plugins/wp-spamshield/data/temp-comments-log…”

After FAQ etc. I checked the file permissions and they are 755 on the folder and 644 on files within.

Also this comment (verbatim) “The mandoline’s potential for injury may be inferred from the picture here…https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandoline” went straight to the bin.

I can’t see why and FTPing the log file (because couldn’t “save as”) I found there no entry (my 1st test comment). The only other spam related plugin operating is “Blacklist Updater” AFAICS.

FYI, in case you think it might be IP related, whilst I am using Cloudflare I have direct access, bypassing CF so my true IP address was used (confirmed by the WP comments admin page).

    Any ideas?

    Best regards, Julian

OK, worked out the comment to bin issue: not the use of “wiki” in the url but the /en. so it was legitimately being filed according to the blacklist.

    (Log issue remains)

    Hi Julian,

I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’ve had, but I’ll be happy to help.

If you’ve already worked through the FAQs and Troubleshooting Guide, and still have an issue, then the next step is to head over to the WP-SpamShield Support Form (our main support channel), and take a moment to fill out a support request. We’ll need a bit more info from you on the specifics, and we’ll need to email back and forth. That will allow us to help you take care of this as quickly as possible.

Thanks for the email. I re-read the FAQ and performed an uninstall/reinstall. Settings were kept… and log file was downloadable.

    Resolved. Thanks.
