    Now this is weird.

    I started to build up an album tree (using it to mirror marine taxonomy). Eventually, I figured out that the level was not correct and tried to rearrange them. It didn’t work. Then I tried to delete them and set up the structure anew. Once I tried to delete an album, I got the message that the site was not available. It almost looked as if I had lost internet.

    I’m confused

    That is indeed an internet issue, not a wppa issue.

    You can easily re-arrage albums by changing their parent album on the edit album information page

    I’ve just tried again. It’s definitely not an internet issue, as I’m posting this here right now.

    Deleting issue:
    After pressing the delete button on the album overview page, I get to the delete page. Now if I press delete there, I get the message that the site is currently not reachable.

    Moving issue:
    When I try to move a tree of 1 album with 3 subsequent subalbums (child, grandchild, grandgrandchild), I get this message in the Remark: Comm error error in red.

    Uploading issue (just now):
    Actually, I wanted to send a link with a screen shot of the “Comm error error”. While trying to upload the screen shot to an album, I again got the message that the site is currently not reachable.

    Should I delete the entire plugin and reinstall it, or is there a simpler solution to this?

    This looks like am issue I had today with wordpress:
    I wanted to get a new password by clicking Forgot Password on login screen. It took more than 10 minutes to get access to the page again.
    So maybe it’s a wordpress issue with database transactions?

    @liko I verified all your actions and can not reproduce any of it. So it is not a wppa issue. I do not think that re-installing the plugin will help, but you can try it anyway.
    Just de-activate, delete and re-install as if t is a new plugin. You will loose nothing.

    I’ve just tried to create a new user profile for my brother. Same result. I think @fgbmaster is right, there seems to be a problem with WP itself. So annoying, especially these days, when I finally have time to take care of this.

    First I checked the webservers error log. There where some entries from wppa, which I reported in another thread. Some other entries pointed to server timeouts. Internet research was not really successfull. The reason for the lost connection can be server-side or browser-side.
    Finally I did the same new password procedure today and all went well without any errormessage.

    Problem solved.
    Turns out it was a browser issue.
    After contacting my provider support, I used a different browser (Firefox instead of Chrome) and everything worked again. For some weird reason, neither clearing the browser cache nor WP cache helped. I still don’t understand the actual problem, but hey. It’s working for now.

    @opajaap Question:
    How many seperate albums and individual photos do you think your plugin can handle?
    I’m about to organise my entire collection of underwater pictures in the scientifically correct order (therefore tons of subalbums, possibly even one album per species – not yet decided), containing hundreds of pictures (on a rough estimate around 1500, with thousands more to come, if my idea works…). Will it handle these numbers?

    I expect that 10.000 albums and 1.000.000 photos will not be a problem, if you set all possible page sizes (thumbnails, albums and admin photos and albums) not being 0 (=not paged).

    One of my test sites has over 150.000 photos and runs as fast as one with only 100 photos.

    @opajaap
    Do you mean I shouldn’t display any picture at all, but leave them in the database? Maybe just creating a slide show of the “best” or “best rated” and leave the rest invisible, until somebody searches for them?

    Also, is there a possibilty to show a complete taxanomic tree for each species once displayed? Example:

    Mollusca (Phylum) >>> Gastropoda (Class) >>> Heterobranchia (Subclass) >>> Euthyneura (Infraclass) >>> Ringipleura (Subterclass) >>> Nudipleura (Superorder) >>> Nudibranchia (Order)>>> Doridina (Suborder) >>> Doridoidei (Infraorder) >>> Chromodoridoidea (Superfamily) >>> Chromodorididae (Family) >>> Chromodoridinae (Subfamily) >>> Goniobranchus (Genus) >>> Goniobranchus tritos (Species)

    It doesn’t need to be as complete as the above example, but half as long would be very welcome.

    Also, is there a way to change the appearance of the search fields?
    I went through the different options yesterday and the supersearch is pretty close, but I’d prefer to have most tag options readily available/clickable, sorted under fitting headlines or graphically identifiable filters.
    Example: a frame of coloured, clickable tiles representing individual tags for colours; basically a graphic representation of available filter tags connected by “and” (selector? What are “and” and “or” called in coding terms?). The tiles should be clickable in a simple on/off switch style.

    Here you can see, where I am at the moment: Current situation
