Title: Cant delete menu items Last modified: July 29, 2020 --- # Cant delete menu items * [nige mcilwaine](https://wordpress.org/support/users/nige-mcilwaine/) * (@nige-mcilwaine) * [5 years, 10 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/cant-delete-menu-items/) * Hi, This is a wierd one, I have suddenly stopped being able to add or delete menu items on my main menu. I have tried upping the ‘PHP Max Input Vars: ‘ to 2000 although I dont think it worked. I have tried clearing the cache. Nothing seems to be making a different. I have contacted the theme authors for help, although Im pretty sure it is not a problem there. I have tried creating a new menu, and whereas I can add items I cant delete them, clicking save, doesn’t save any changes. I had this problem once. In my case, the problem was that I edited the database( th sql file using text editor). Anyway it’s seems to be a privillage issue. Check the user privillage for database (I’m doing this from Cpanel).
