Do you mean (1) you can still see theme in the back-end (admin area), (2) or, you can still see them in the front end?

When I press appearance the 5 themes are right there. I wanted to upload a paid version of a theme I was using but to do that I would have to delete the one I already had so I got a next theme and activated it so I could delete my original theme, but it never give me the choice to delete it.

You cannot delete an active theme (or its parent, if it’s a child theme).

Click the non-active theme to expand it. You should then see the link to delete the theme.

Or, access your server via FTP/ SFTP , or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/themes/ remove other themes you want deleted.
