Can't customize – header, background

    I recently installed this 2014 theme. When I click on customize in order to change the header picture, the customize page comes up with this message:
    The Customizer allows you to preview changes to your site before publishing them. You can also navigate to different pages on your site to preview them.

    However, nothing else loads on the page so I cannot change out the header or background. Page remains blank.

    I have no idea what to do. I changed themes and went back to Coraline and it is not working there either.
