[resolved] Can't create recurring event because of date input trouble (7 posts)

I am trying to create a recurring event, but each time I do, I get the following message:

Your event details are incorrect and recurrences cannot be created, please correct these errors first:
Events cannot start after they end.

The event is from 07:00 PM to 10:00 PM on the same day and should repeat once a week (so there should be no day-wrap issues because it goes after midnight).

Each time I try to publish, I receive the error message and it changes my end time to 12:00 AM.

I have tried disabling all other plugins and using the Twenty Eleven theme in case it was a conflict; it did not improve matters.

Of note, I am able to create a single event with the date/time intact.
This only happens when I try to create a recurring event.

    Hi,

    try this tutorial -> http://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/creating-and-editing-events/

    e.g.

This event repeats [weekly] every [1] week on
    [x]Mon
Recurrences span from [2012-11-01] to 2012-11-30
Events start from [07:00 PM] to [10:00 PM]

to clarify, when choosing dates on recurrences, you're choosing the timespan during which the recurrences can occur. For multiple day events, see a couple lines down "Events last x days"

Hello, and thanks for the reply!

    I suspect I've explained poorly.
The event should occur every Monday from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
The event does not span multiple days.

Each time I enter 10pm in the end-time box, the plugin reports that the event cannot start after it ends and sets the end time to 12am and gives me the error message.

@agelonwl - that is what I have been doing, save that I set the event recurrence range for 5 years instead of 1 month.

what about the start/end dates? is your datepicker working? I think that's where the problem lies

I went back in to recreate the problem, and was able to post successfully.

I've been able to recreate the problem, but not consistently.
The closest I can come is... that sometimes when I leave things at their default and save, then try to change it, sometimes I get the error — even though according to the info entered, I shouldn't get it. I realize that's not terribly helpful — but without consistent results, it's hard to say more.

Thanks for the help, though. :)
