Can’t create new themes?!

    I installed wordpress on another part of my site. So it’s on my main site and sub-site.
    Now, on my main site I’m able to create a new folder and upload my files, but on the sub site I can’t! When I try it says “permission denied”.
    I checked the CHMOD settings … it’s the same as the main but I am unable to create a folder for a theme.
    Any ideas?
