I have been able to connect to all social medias in “Publizice” before, with the odd Facebook connection problem. Usually i just have to follow the instructions on this page but this time it didn’t work. When i tried to connect to Facebook again, i get the following message:

“Something which should never happen, happened. Sorry about that. If you try again, maybe it will work.

    Error code: -32700″

I tried it again and again, with different browsers and cleaned cache/cookies, but the same error occurs. I have not changed any code, plugin or theme since i made a blog article yesterday, and that was sent to my Facebook page without a problem. This problem just popped up out of nowhere.

I did however notice that WordPress has a new update, and i remember that the last versions included automatic security updating. I am wondering if that could have altered some code on my site without notifying me?

The other social medias, Google+, Twitter and Tumblr still reads as connected.

I see that you since updated to Jetpack 2.9.3 since you posted this. Do you still have the issue with Facebook now?

Yes, and i also updated WordPress, but still the same problem. What is Error code: -3270 anyway?

What the… did someone just erase my latest post here?

Does anyone know what this problem is? Anyone at all??

I just tried to reconnect my development site to WordPress.com when i get yet another error message. It is the same error number though, so i’m guessing this is connected?

“Your Jetpack has a glitch. Something went wrong that’s never supposed to happen. Guess you’re just lucky: xml_rpc-32700
Try connecting again. Error Details: The Jetpack server could not communicate with your site’s XML-RPC URL. Please check to make sure http://dev.craftersu.com/xmlrpc.php is working properly. It should show ‘XML‑RPC server accepts POST requests only.’ on a line by itself when viewed in a browser and should not have any blank links or extra output anywhere.”

I checked the link “dev.craftersu.com/xmlrpc.php” and it looks exactly like the error message says it should look, so what is the deal? Also, my development site is a direct copy of my official site, and i am still connected to wordpress.com on my official site…how can two identical sites have different results like this?

I am also having the same problem, only I cannot connect to any of the social networks.

The problem with connecting to wordpress I solved it when I switched to another theme (twenty-thirteen), connected to wordpress, and then switched back to my theme.

Haha, that worked, how weird! Thanx a lot for the help though, couldn’t have solved this without your help 🙂

craftersuniversity: for the record, your http://dev.craftersu.com/xmlrpc.php is incorrect; there are blank lines before the line of text. It should look like here:

    http://jetpack.me/xmlrpc.php

Those blank lines essentially “break” the xmlrpc.php file, thus rendering proper communications with WordPress.com through Jetpack impossible. YOu need to find what is causing those extra blank lines. It can be in your theme files, or in your plugin files. Since you say that you were able to connect to WordPress.com by switching to another theme, then I suspect its in your theme files. Look in all of your files for blank lines after the closing ?> at the end of the files.

I have checked all the files in the child theme on my official site, but the http://craftersu.com/xmlrpc.php still shows those empty lines. Some of the php files have html code and css code after the last ?> but i cant remove that without breaking the theme, can i?

    Plugin Contributor Richard Archambault

    (@richardmtl)

No, the important thing is, no file must end with a ?> and then a blank space or blank line after. Do all of your theme files start with a <?php ?

    Thread Starter craftersuniversity

    (@craftersuniversity)

    Yes they do

Ok; I noticed now that we didn’t talk about the wp-config.php file. Check that too for extra blank lines at the end.

Damn, wp-config.php, the only one I hadn’t checked, 3 extra lines at the end, do you know where they came from?
this broke Jetpack with the “Guess you’re just lucky: xml_rpc-32700” error, rss also broken and strangely enough you couldn’t add categories.
    Thank you.

No, I don’t know where they would have come from. A misbehaving plugin that added them, maybe? Or a manual edit gone wrong?

Client said he didn’t edit anything, but after one of the (many) recent WP updates, all the plugins failed to re-enable, my moneys on that update having gone very wrong. Ties in with what the OP said. I like to know the cause of 6 hours of wasted fiddling 🙂
