• I installed the theme called Atmosphere 2010. I am trying to change the color of my header from white to black. I know where to customize it, I go under ‘customize’ then ‘site title and tagline’ then I change ‘header text color’ to black, I click “save and publish” and it’s still white. I am able to change anything else but this. I’ve made other changes that work but this change isn’t working. What is going on? The white is hard to read over the white & blue picture!

  • Did you notice the large warning on your theme’s download page?

!This theme hasn’t been updated in over 2 years. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.

You may want to consider installing a more current theme.

No I didn’t see that before I installed it! Hmmm. If I change to a different theme now, will I lose all my information? I have spent almost a week getting my home page right.

it depends on where you made your modifications and if they were theme specific.

Using a different theme you will have to start over to some extent.

Find a theme has been recently updated, has support issues that have been resolved, contains instructions or documentation…. and has the basic layout you’re looking for.

You won’t lose any pages/posts/custom menus or plugin settings.
