• Hello —

I am building a new site using WordPress 4.9.2 running Universal Store theme.

Everything was fine until today. I went to check something in my godaddy account and it said back up database. So I did and it created a backup, but then I wasn’t able to make any changes to the attributes part of the database. When I try to add pictures it comes up with an http:// error. Whenever I tried to modify an existing attribute or create a new one I get the spinning working sign that never ends.

Any thoughts? I tried backing up and reinstalling the database. I tried using an earlier database but the same problem occurs. It seems like the problem is more related to woocommerce than the actual database.

I was getting close to going live so it’s a bit frustrating as I can’t add new things and complete the mission while this is happening.

    Thanks all

    Ray

  • Hello, Ray, & welcome. I’m not sure what you mean by “”I wasn’t able to make any changes to the attributes part of the database.” If you tried to change something in the database, that may have corrupted it. Perhaps restoring the backup might help.

“When I try to add pictures it comes up with an http:// error.” This suggests either that you don’t have file uploads turned on or that the post_max_size &/or upload_max_size is too small.

You might try, as a temporary measure, disabling all plugins & reverting to a default theme “they begin w/the word ‘twenty’ & see if this resolves the issue. If it does, try re-enabling your theme first. If the site breaks, then the problem is clearly your theme. If the site remains functional, then begin re-enabling plugins 1 at a time & continue to perform the operation that previously broke the site till the site becomes inoperative again, in which case you’ve found the culprit plugin.

Sometimes it can prove helpful in situations like this for us to have the site url so we can have a look.
